Lasik

Correcting vision problems with a laser has been common practise for over two decades. There have been significant improvements in the safety and precision of laser vision correction surgery since the first procedure was conducted in Germany in the late 1980s. Laser technology has been successfully applied to the treatment of cataracts and retinal disorders in addition to its primary usage, the correction of refractive defects.

LASIK

What is Lasik?

Tired of wearing glasses or contact lenses? Lasik surgery is a right operation for you. Laser in-situ keratomileusis (LASIK) is a famous eye surgery procedure carried out for vision correction. Lasik has proven to be a very successful method for people who are suffering from farsighted (hyperopia), nearsighted (myopia), or astigmatism. It usually works by reshaping the cornea, the part which is clear so that the light travelling through the cornea gets appropriately focused on the retina located to the back of your eye.
Lasik surgery is a laser treatment for eyes which reshapes the cornea. Mostly all the laser treatment for eyes have a high success rate. Lasik surgery reshapes the cornea to allow light penetrate the eye to be well focused on the retina for sharp vision. Mostly, Lasik laser operation for eyes is pain-free and finished in 15 minutes for both eyes. The results are enhanced vision without eyeglasses or contact lenses. These results are usually seen in 24 hours and sometimes soon before that too.

Types of Lasik:

R

Standard Lasik

In standard LASIK, following the corneal flap creation, your surgeon uses an exceptional excimer laser to reshape the cornea. The reshaping of the cornea is done by removing a pre-decided quantity of corneal tissue. Pre-operative assessment is carried out in which the surgery parameters are decided. These parameters include the amount of corneal tissue to be removed during the surgery. These decisions are entirely in the hands of your doctors who decide these parameters considering the measurements of your recent prescription for your glasses or contact lenses.

This procedure is safe and painless. Also, it takes almost about 10-15 minutes of being in the operating room. It takes only about 1-2 min of laser projection to conduct standard LASIK.

R

Aspheric Lasik

The most latest and advanced technology in laser eye treatments is the Aspheric Lasik eye surgery. The treatment should be carried out a qualified eye surgeon. It is usually done to eliminate spherical aberrations. This specialized Aspheric Lasik eye surgery is done for people who have large pupils and who experience a poor night vision. This will significantly improve their vision and capabilities. Advantages of Aspheric Lasik Laser Treatment are sharper and clear vision, super vision, no night glare and halos, safe and less time-consuming surgery, vision corrected to 6/6, customized Lasik eye surgery.

Corneal Wave front/ Topoguided/ Customized Lasik

The custom Lasik which is also called as custom wave front Lasik or wave front Lasik is a personalized Lasik treatment for vision correction. This is done using high-level wave front technology to assess the unique features of your eyes. The standard Lasik surgery endeavours to recreate

Don’t worry you are in safe hands. If you observe any slightest symptoms of this eye problem, please see the doctor as soon as possible. It may cost your eye sight if ignored.

PRK Treatment

Photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) is a type of laser treatment. PRK is a type of refractive surgery for vision correction astigmatism, hyperopia (farsightedness) and myopia (nearsightedness). PRK succeeded Lasik in the field of laser eye treatments. Even though recovery from PRK treatment takes a long time, it’s more preferred than Lasik eye surgery. PRK treatment proves more advantageous for the patients. Similar to Lasik, PRK works by reshaping the cornea using an excimer laser. This treatment will help the light to pass properly thus giving a clear vision to the patient. The chief difference between PRK treatment and LASIK treatment is just in the first step of the treatment. Complete eye care is taken care of in both the surgeries. It will depend on the patient which treatment is suitable for the clear vision.
